Greer drops heartbreaker to Byrnes

The Lady Yellow Jackets called a timeout they didn’t have.

That was the call late in the fourth quarter last Wednesday, as the Greer girls basketball team dropped its first game of the season to Byrnes, 75-74.

The Jackets had blown a 20-point lead and were called for a technical with just a few ticks remaining on the clock.

Riverside returns four starters in 2016 in hopes of having success in a new region.

The Riverside girls basketball team earned two wins in four days last week, knocking off Blue Ridge (27-16) and Eastside (29-27) before falling to Landrum (53-31).

Head coach Jenny Taylor said her team looked strong early in the week against a couple of good opponents.

The Crusaders were blanked against N. Alabama, 38-0.

An unexpected run through the NCAA Division II playoffs has finally come to an end for the underdog Crusaders.

After sneaking into the postseason on an at-large bid, the North Greenville football team won its first two playoff games handily before ultimately falling to North Alabama in the quarterfinals, 38-0.
