The Byrnes girls’ basketball team is off to a perfect 3-0 start, and guard Brianna James has had a lot to do with it.

James scored 24 points in the Lady Rebels’ most recent win over Greer and earned honors as The Greer Citizen and Owen’s Insurance Player of the Week.

Four local high school standouts will take the field during the annual North-South All-Star Football Game on Dec. 14, which is held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach.

Quez Nesbitt and Rolland Nall will represent Greer, while Tyreik Lyles and Shuler Bentley represent Byrnes.

Riverside
The Riverside boy’s basketball team improved to 3-2 after a back and forth week.
The Warriors notched a thrilling double overtime win over Blue Ridge, but fell to Eastside by 11 on Tuesday.

Riverside coach Greg Miller said he has seen some will to win from his team.

The Lady Rebels pulled out a 69-62 win over Greer in overtime last week, improving to 3-0 on the season.

The Byrnes High girls were led by, Brianna James, who had 24 points and five rebounds on the night. Twelve of James’ points came in the fourth quarter.

The North Greenville women’s basketball has signed three recruits to its 2014 haul.

Khara Herring, Cortney Williams, and Paulette Addison signed national letters of intent to play for the Lady Crusaders next season.

North Greenville coach Jayne Arledge said the signees should help form a versatile class.
