GTC students named to All-State Academic Team
Three students from Greenville Technical College (GTC) have been named to South Carolina’s 2024 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-State Academic Team.
On April 11, Genesis Leal, Molly Turner, and Asia Willett were honored at a ceremony to announce the 50 students selected from the state’s 16 technical colleges.
Little Me working toward reading goal
A Greer preschool is close to completing their reading goal of 500 books by May, as 3K teacher Courtney Evans emphasizes the importance of literacy this school year.
Located along Wicker Park Ave., the Little Me Academy 3K class of 24 participating students has read 430 books so far this school year.
GHS student receives honor
Shawn Duckett, of Greer High, has been selected to become a member of The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).
The society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment.
NGU to host dedication
April 12 will mark the start of a new chapter at North Greenville University (NGU).
A dedication celebration is set for the university’s fully renovated Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center, formerly Donnan Administration Building. The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. on NGU’s campus in Tigerville.

Four District Five educators have been named Finalists for District Five’s 2024-25 Teacher of the Year.
They include:
Tracy Black, Kindergarten Teacher at Lyman Elementary School
Raelyn Chambliss, Honors and AP Art Teacher at Byrnes High School
Lorie Goode, Art Teacher at River Ridge Elementary School
Lister crowned Miss Souvenirs 2024
Haley Lister was crowned Miss Souvenirs 2024 during the class beauty pageant at Byrnes High on Saturday.
