Steve grew up in Hendersonville and attended East Henderson High School before attending Gardner-Webb University where he graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion. Prior to coming to work at The Greer Citizen as a Publisher, he was Publisher at Hometown News in Spartanburg, Classified Advertising Manager at The Logan Banner in Logan, West Virginia, and General Manager at The Union Daily Times in Union, South Carolina. Steve’s newspaper career began in 1984 while a student at Gardner-Webb. Steve and his wife Shayna live in Woodruff and have two children.
