Blame Cannada

Fantasy nerd

Admittedly, I’m a fantasy football degenerate.

I wasn’t always this way, but as I continued to rack up injuries while trying to play sports, I thought it would be a safer option to watch a lot of sports.

My wife thinks it’s stupid because, technically, it is stupid.

Welcome back

It felt like forever, but football is finally back.
We all know that some of the best high school football can be found right here in the Upstate.
Now that games are open to everyone once again, here are a few things I’m excited about in 2021:

Lake sports are not fun

You know what always looked fun?

Riding in one of those rafts that people tow on the lake. I like fun rides. I like water sports. I like boats.

What about this activity could be bad.

I’ll tell you what.

Everything.

Nightmares

I’d like to share with you some of the nightmares I’ve been having.

These nightmares don’t include creepy clowns in the woods or chainsaw wielding, hockey mask-wearing psychopaths.

No, these dreams are far worse.

These dreams are about losing things.

Taking up arms against the enemy

It’s never too early to teach your children to hunt.

Have you looked around?

Do you see the kind of trouble we’re in? Hunting is essential.

You can’t expect anyone to do anything for you.

You have to rise to the occasion.

That’s the values we’re teaching our 3-year-old and 2-year-old.

Olympics

The Olympics start this week.

I guess I should knock on wood when I say that. There’s been a running debate over whether or not the games should even happen due to increased COVID-19 cases, but I think we’ve learned a thing or two in the last year and a half to handle this.

To put it simply: the Olympic Games are amazing.

Happy Fourth

My opinion on fireworks is changing as I have more and more toddlers.

For years, I viewed pyrotechnics as one of the only reasons to go outside during the oppressively hot month of July. Independence Day never ranked incredibly high on my preferred holiday chart, but its redeeming quality was always fireworks.
