Blame Cannada

When played to perfection, the Roy Williams brand of basketball is the most beautiful version of the game.

It’s risky. It can be wildly sloppy. But the goal of Roy Williams basketball is to be perfect…to dominate.

Have you ever seen that video where a toddler is running into the room and they see something that spooks them, so while in stride, they turn right back around and run out of the room?

That was Charlie on Monday night.

I know how you feel Clemson fans.

My Tar Heels were in the tournament for about three seconds as well.

It’s been said of North Carolina basketball fans that we aren’t the most humble bunch.

I’ll admit, I’ve been called an arrogant Tar Heel a time or two.

I’m about to sound like a dinosaur to some of you and a baby to others.

But, back in my day, teachers had to roll in an overhead projector if they wanted to teach you a math lesson without using the blackboard.

I’ve been trying to get my kids into sports.

I know they are just toddlers, but when you watch sports documentaries on high-profile athletes, they always say how they picked up a golf club or a basketball at the age of 2.

This means it is time to begin their training.

People who have known me for years wouldn’t make the mistake of asking me to anything handy.

Well, my wife does, but she doesn’t really ask. She tells me to do handy stuff—then fusses at me for messing it up. I believe the word for this is “marriage.”

College basketball is dead guys.

I don’t want it to be. It’s my favorite sport in the entire world. But this season has been terrible.

I know what you’re thinking.

“It’s not that bad, Billy.”

“You’re just mad because North Carolina isn’t good.”

While that might be technically true, it’s not my reasoning.
