Last weekend I had the opportunity to support a friend going through a tough time. Though dealing with a divorce, she focused on positives and took control and committed herself to running a marathon in under four hours.

We always hear about fathers who are protective of their daughters. We even find it charming when it’s played up in movies, songs and shows, but the cynical reason behind this is that women aren’t treated equally and they are far more likely than men to be victims of sexual assault and workplace discrimination.
