Area schools to participate in Seamless Summer food service
Three area schools are among the Greenville County Schools Food and Nutrition Services sites participating in the Seamless Summer Food Service Program during the months of June, July and August.
Area students among NGU spring graduates
North Greenville University conferred the degrees of 281 graduates during its Spring Commencement ceremonies on May 5 at Melvin and Dollie Younts Stadium in Tigerville.
The ceremony, which concluded with a fireworks display, capped the academic year at the private university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
USC, Greenville Technical College sign agreement
Greenville Technical College (GTC) and University of South Carolina (USC) recently signed an agreement to facilitate the transfer of GTC students into USC’s programs.
The courses taught at GTC will be equivalent to the first half of the USC bachelor’s curriculum to the extent feasible.
Byrnes student serves children
A Byrnes High School student spent the past semester serving the children in her community through a school program.
Byrnes junior Hayden Clements, 17, recently completed the Leadership Byrnes Passions Project class. The class, Clements said, is all about learning how to be a leader and serving the community.
Greenville Tech celebrates graduates, professors
A commencement ceremony for Greenville Technical College (GTC) was held on Friday, May 5, with 364 graduates, including 11 military veterans, 133 graduates with a GPA of 3.4 or higher, and 23 graduates with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Two students were honored for academics and community service, as well as two professors.
