The School Improvement Councils for Eastside High School and Greer Middle School have been named to the SC School Improvement Council’s 2022 Honor Roll for their significant efforts to foster civic engagement in public education. The two schools are among seven public schools in South Carolina to earn a spot on this distinguished list.

wins national contest
Ann Salway’s third grade class from Abner Creek Academy won the grand prize during the national SpringBoard math competition in June.
With the final results just announced, Salway’s third graders remained among the top ten classes in the country throughout the 10-week competition.
LaVonda Paul, owner of Small Impressions in Taylors, and her daughter Michaela Bowman brightened the holidays for deployed US Air Force members this year.
Earlier this month, they sent 10 Christmas boxes filled with snacks, toiletries, breakfast items, Christmas cards, and canned goods.

win parade honors
The Greer High and Blue Ridge High combined marching bands were named best band in the Greenville Christmas Parade last week.
Greenville Technical College offers many different career paths in high-demand fields, and with the new S.C. Workforce Scholarships for the Future, South Carolina residents can take advantage of zero-cost tuition for Spring Semester, which begins January 10, 2022. Almost all academic programs are included at Greenville Tech.
Najah Smith of Greer is a student at Lowcountry Connections Academy – a full-time virtual school serving South Carolina K-12 students across the state.
As a senior, Najah is participating in dual enrollment, taking additional classes at Spartanburg Community College.
