REFLECTIONS WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The top three winners from Greer High in the Reflections Contest have advanced to the district competition. The winners will be recognized at Awards Night in the spring.

The City of Greer is seeking students kindergarten through college to enter the City of Greer Thanksgiving Art Show.
Contest is free to enter and is open to all students. Pencil, paint, crayon or pastel media allowed. Artwork must be matted.
Greer seeking student artists for Art Show
The City of Greer is seeking students kindergarten through college to enter the City of Greer Thanksgiving Art Show. This year’s theme is “What have I given to others or what can I give to others.”
The Riverside High Speech and Debate Team won the Queen City Tournament at Charlotte Catholic High in Pineville, North Carolina last week.
Riverside beat out 30 schools from four states.
The public is invited to review textbooks and instructional materials that have been proposed for use in South Carolina’s public schools. The materials will be on display from Oct. 21 through Nov. 21 at 20 locations throughout the state. The materials will be on display with instructions for submitting comments available at each site.
Kathyrn Smith Burns, pictured center, recently turned 90 years old. Burns posed with her family during the City of Greer’s recent Vintage Market at the Park event in downtown Greer earlier in the month.
Approximately 2,200 South Carolina school-aged children enrolled in 59 afterschool programs participated in Lights On Afterschool.

Blue Ridge places at Marching Classic
Blue Ridge High Corps of Cadets placed second in Class 4A competition at the Pride of Pendleton Marching Classic recently.
Twenty-five high schools participated.
Blue Ridge Middle Schools students boarded “The Choice Bus” last Wednesday
The bus, which is designed to resemble both a prison cell and a classroom demonstrated the dangers of bad decisions and the value of education.
