Ethan Ham, an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 622 in Mills River, North Carolina, and a sophomore at Blue Ridge High School, has been chosen as a Delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders at the University of Massachusetts, in Lowell, to be held June 25-27.
National College Fair coming to Greenville
The National Association of Admission Counseling (NACAC) will host a College Fair on Saturday, March 19, from 1-4 p.m. at the TD Convention Center in Greenville.
The free event will feature college representatives from over 130 colleges and universities.

Skyland Shining Stars Arts Night
Skyland Elementary will celebrate the arts in South Carolina on Monday, March 21, from 6-8 p.m.
The event will feature a student art gallery,Skyland Singers, a third grade music program at 6:30 p.m. and shag dance lessons.
Greer Middle College Charter High received honors in several categories at the SC Beta Club Convention recently.
GMC had a school record of 100 students attend, earning them the Gold Key Award for a 10 percent increase in convention participation.

National PTA has recognized Joy Grayson, of Taylors, with the 2016 Shirley Igo Advocate of the Year Award for her leadership and commitment to being a powerful voice for all children and a strong advocate for public education.
Several Greer High art students have won 2016 Scholastic Art Awards. The students competed against thousands of entries in the Southeast Region.

Policemen, firemen, athletes, businessmen, fathers and grandfathers stopped by Chandler Creek Elementary on Tuesday to read to students, promote literacy and share about their professions.
Assistant principal Jennifer Dodds said the program, called Real Men Read, illustrates that reading is important and enjoyable.
