Orchestra starts Oct. 17
The Furman Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert of the season Friday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium on the Furman University campus.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students.

Local Subway restaurants are providing schools with free materials to help students track their eating and physical activity choices for any two-week period during the month of October.

Two public and free drum circles will be held at Chapman Cultural Center Saturday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. as part of the Hub City Empty Bowls Soup Day. The public is invited to participate.
