Spring and beyond

The cold of winter is receding while the full heat of summer has not yet begun.

As spring unfolds, pollen is everywhere, and plants are showing the light green of new growth.

Many had the opportunity to travel during spring break.

Pregnancy brain

Pregnancy brain is a real thing.

In the past few weeks, I have forgotten my phone at home only to have to turn around, go back and try again.

Early on, I realized what I’d done while I was still nearby.

But I feel like I have been getting farther and farther from home before the missing phone registers.

Crucified and risen

This time of year is one of my favorites.

As new growth starts to become evident, the season is a beautiful illustration of new life given through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to testify to the truth.

Looking at houses

My husband Brad and I have started to look at houses for sale.

With the craziness of the seller’s market at this time, we have walked through two places during “Show and Go” events.

The limited time to make an over $100,000 decision is scary.

Visiting family

This past weekend, Brad and I traveled to North Carolina to visit my younger brother Keven, his wife Jordyn and their five-month-old boy.

We met Oliver in person for the first time since his birth last fall.

Brad and Keven spent a large amount of time working on a retaining wall project as one of our Christmas presents to them.

Baby is growing

Last week, my husband Brad and I were able to see our baby once again!

At 13 weeks, the ultrasound showed our little one, who is now about 2.5 inches long, stretching, waving and curling up.

We are so enthralled with this new life.

At one point, Brad commented how the baby’s motion mimicked what he does all the time.

Looking for a home

Lenders, buyer’s agents and real estate—looking for a home to purchase is a whole new territory for me and my husband Brad.

With initial approval and a gift, we have been actively browsing homes for sale.

Babysitting

One of my two best friends from college had her first child—a boy—last January.

Riley recently turned one, and I helped out my friend Sharon by watching him this past Saturday morning.

I arrived at the house while both of his parents were still there.

Baby Cashman coming this fall!

My husband Brad and I are so excited to share that we are expecting our first baby with a due date of September 10!

Last Thursday, we had our first OB visit and ultrasound.

As we saw our baby for the first time, I held Brad’s hand, and we watched as the baby began to dance for us!

Faith

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
