Kaelyn's Korner

Fall

I love the fall.

The cooler days are beautiful as the leaves change colors and coat the ground.

Luke enjoys the outdoors, particularly picking up leaves. His daddy, Brad, says maybe he’ll be a botanist.

I enjoy a cup of something hot to drink, such as tea, cocoa or cider.

The skies have been fairly clear recently.

Unity

Unity is beautiful to witness.

The mutual coming together of a husband and wife, children with parents, families with fellow believers in Christ is supernatural.

Continued harmony often follows a biblical framework.

Luke

Luke has a number of cousins.

This past weekend, my younger brother and his wife came down from North Carolina with their almost two-year-old son.

Since Luke is now walking, the two of them were able to run around together.

Love

We have been talking about love in various forums at church recently.

For the monthly women’s fellowship gatherings, we have been going through 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

Often times, I think we associate love with feeling good or making others comfortable.

Birthday boy

Our son Luke turned one year old this past Saturday!

We wanted to celebrate at the lake, but given the wet, rainy weather, Brad and I cleared our den to host the party at our place.

Both of our families helped to make the day special.

Big brother

We have some exciting news to share!

Luke is a big brother with a little sibling due around mid-April of next year, and we are looking forward to meeting this new addition to our family.

In the meantime, Luke is keeping us busy!

Change

Change is rarely easy, but sometimes good.

This week, we bid farewell to the Editor Billy Cannada, who has been in that position since I started at The Greer Citizen in 2016.

I wish him well in his new journey.

Beach trip

Luke experienced the beach for the first time last week.

We drove down to Hilton Head Island for a week on the sand, in the waves and around the pool.

A few days, we caught the sunrise over the ocean.

Luke enjoyed playing with his sand toys, exploring the beach, and sitting with me in the shallow waves.

Fear God

Kaelyn Cashman's picture

How can one stay true to the faith in the midst of persecution?

Fear God.

Fear is a great motivator.

What we fear often shapes who we are.

Matthew 10:28-31 says, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.

“Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
