Kaelyn's Korner

Mom

My appreciation for the role of motherhood has grown as I have.

This past weekend gave each of us an opportunity to honor or remember our moms.

Brad and I took advantage of this past Sunday to do just that.

Sunday morning, we woke up earlier than usual to travel down to my sister’s place in Anderson.

Busy

Brad and I stay busy with working full-time, hosting and fellowshipping.

This past weekend, we took dinner to a family of seven—one of our elders and his family—and we ate with them.

After their five children went to bed, we hung out a bit longer.

Brad

I love my husband Brad very much.

He is my best friend and my dearest love, and I am happy to walk through life by his side.

Three character traits really draw me to Brad: his seeking after God, his yearning for fellowship and his pursuing growth.

Blue Bloods

When we get home from a long day, Brad and I enjoy a good TV show.

On Sunday, we went out to eat after church with a group of brothers and sisters in Christ, spent a few hours in fellowship and learned about Blue Bloods. We watched a few episodes that night.

Psallos

Psallos is a team of Christian artists - songsters and singers, ministers and musicians, thinkers and theologians.

This team has put together artistic songs of worship that are consistent with God’s word, rich in sound doctrine and intelligible for the sake of edification.

Last Tuesday night, Psallos returned to our church.

Friendship

Walking and talking is one of my favorite ways to spend time with a friend.

Early Saturday morning, I drove to pick up a good friend, who I originally met at North Greenville University.

We’ve been in and out of touch but are able to pick up where we left off.

Alive!

Watch the Lamb.

I’d heard this song before, but watching the music video this year had me in tears.

The song follows the story of a father taking his sons to sacrifice a lamb in Jerusalem.

On the way, the father tells his sons to watch the lamb, so the animal would not run away.

Diet

My husband Brad and I are trying a new diet.

Last week, we cut back on fruits and grains but continued to use up what we already had at home.

We are going to try to eat mostly vegetables and non-processed meats for the next couple of weeks before starting to re-introduce fruits and other foods.

Wedding anniversary

Kaelyn Cashman's picture

My husband Brad and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on Sunday.
Over this past year, we have both learned a lot from each other, and I would like to highlight three areas of growth for me.

Gun ownership

Kaelyn Cashman's picture

Whoever holds a gun potentially has power to determine who lives and who dies.

With the state of sinful mankind, no one can be fully trusted to own a firearm, yet certain measures can be taken to keep gun owners accountable.

In any case, I would not trust any government to be the sole owners of guns.
