Vacation

By the time you read this column, I will be Mrs. Kaelyn Cashman.

I am very excited to marry my best friend and dearest love, and I look forward to much-anticipated time to rest together.

We are going to the mountains.

Wedding

The day is almost here.
It is hard to believe that so many hopes and dreams are coming true this weekend as I embark on a new adventure with my best friend.
As with any major change, there are ups and downs.
Most of the time, I am soaring on the heights of a love unexplainable and a friendship indefinable.

Storms

March stormed in this year.
Last Wednesday night, I’d planned to attend a church function in Simpsonville, but due to the threatening weather and distance, I decided to stay with my fiancé Brad.
We played a game together.

Displaced

Technology impacts nearly every aspect of our lives these days.
This job requires a good deal of time in front of the computer—typing up articles, checking emails and laying out pages.
Since I started working here, I settled into a corner desk.

Good

God, who is good, created good things.
God created everything in six days and reflected on what He created as recorded in a refrain repeated in Genesis 1, “And God saw that it was good.”
On the first day, God created light and separated the light from the darkness, calling the light Day and the darkness Night.

Love

Hearts, roses and chocolates often come to mind this time of year.

Valentine’s Day in February has colored the entire month with shades of red and white and pink.

Expressions of endearment show others we care.

Transitions

Being able to adjust to new conditions is important in life.

In general, we are creatures of habit.

We like our routines, and we dislike when those routines are upset by circumstances beyond our control.

Each season of life brings different joys and trials.

Life

Life begins at conception.

A baby begins to grow inside the mother’s womb before ever entering into the light of day.

Psalm 139:13 says, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

The Maker of heaven and earth forms unseen places and knits together babies yet to be born.

Women

In preparing for my marriage in March, I am learning more about men and women.

While both male and female are created in the image of God, He has given us our own unique roles in families, churches and societies.

Dignity

Kaelyn Cashman's picture

Every person should be treated with dignity.

Dignity is the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect.

The dignity of each individual is not based on the actions of that person but on the fact that each person is made in the image of God.
