Kaelyn's Korner

Five years

Time continues to pass by swiftly—filled with joys and trials.

This past Friday, Brad and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary, and we look forward to many more years together!

Patience

We often don’t recognize our own weaknesses until they smack us in the face.

The other week, I witnessed my flesh ruling my actions rather than the Spirit of God producing the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

War

While the truth these days seems to be hard to determine, what appears to be happening between Russia and Ukraine is surreal.

With the Internet, are we watching World War III unfold before our eyes?

The Chosen

My husband Brad and I started watching The Chosen when the first season became free on Amazon Prime.

We quickly finished those episodes, discussing the material with family and friends.

The characters are engaging as each one begins to follow Jesus, who is portrayed as personable yet purposeful.

Not our home

For believers who are following our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, this world is not our home.

We are sojourners or travelers passing through this earth.

Our citizenship is in heaven; though, we certainly operate here and now as citizens of the country where we reside as well.

But we do so as foreigners or visitors.

Five months

Last Thursday, Luke turned five months old!

My husband Brad and I are treasuring the time watching him discover the world around him for the first time.

Luke has found his toes, which he loves to play with and stick in his mouth.

He has been experiencing some early teething and has a tooth coming in his front lower gums.

Fellowship

A friend at church invited a number of us to join her in a two-year daily reading plan on the Bible app.

Each day has a couple of chapters to read—one in the Old Testament starting in Genesis and one in the New Testament starting in Matthew.

Love

Since February is the month of love with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, let’s reflect on what love feels, sounds, smells, tastes and looks like.

All of us have ideas of what love is.

Some may agree that love feels like a warm embrace, a pat on the back, or a high five.

His mercy is more

This song is one of my new favorites since we first sang it at church.

“His Mercy Is More,” a song by Keith & Kristyn Getty, begins, “What love could remember no wrongs we have done / Omniscient, all knowing, He counts not their sum / Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore / Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.”
