Two months

Today—Wednesday, November 10, 2021—marks two months with our precious son, Lucas.

He is growing so quickly; he is already getting ready for the fourth diaper size.

Luke is a happy baby, showering us with smiles and giggles many mornings and enjoying snuggles on a regular basis.

Faith

'Tis the season to give thanks!

While many of us focus on thanksgiving this month, a habit of giving thanks all year long is a good one to develop.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Fear the Lord

The fear of the Lord is beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10).

This time of year, many enjoy the thrill of a scare, and there are any number of causes for being afraid.

Yet there is one fear that should drive the believer’s life.

Changing seasons

As summer becomes fall and fall becomes winter, so the seasons of our lives change as we grow and mature.

My husband Brad and I have now become homeowners and parents.

New joys and trials await us in these new roles while the same God sustains us in every season of life.

One day at a time

Certain seasons of life must be lived one day at a time.

When the busy-ness of life threatens to overwhelm, I find myself taking each day as it comes with all of the joys and trials therein.

Thoughts of the future often lead only to worry.

Reflections

Having a child brings a whole new understanding to God as Father.

As Brad and I grow together in caring for our son, Luke, we are also developing new insights into the character of the Everlasting Father.

In Genesis 3, God, who knows everything, asks a question.

Parenthood

Feeling Luke move and kick during pregnancy has been surreal as my husband Brad and I enter this new season of parenthood.

There have been ups, and there have been downs.

Welcoming a new life into the world is both a joy and a challenge, and certain Scriptures have stood out this year.

Comic books

My husband Brad has introduced me to the best of comic books.

With National Comic Book Day coming up on September 25, I thought I’d share some of our favorite characters.

Wonder Woman is definitely a favorite for me.

Brad has shared with me both the DC world as well as the Marvel world of characters over the years.

Remember

With the 20th anniversary of 9-11 this coming Saturday, let us take time to remember those who lost everything that day.

As an eighth grader in a small Christian school in Vermont, I did not know what had happened until the end of the school day.

But our teachers were all very distracted.
