Peace

Peace is found in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ alone.

John 16:33 says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

My husband Brad and I have a lot going on—expecting our first child any day.

Nesting

My husband Brad and I moved into our house Saturday, August 14.

Since then, we have been rearranging furniture, going through boxes and putting together our home. Our bedroom, the kitchen, two bathrooms and Luke’s room are mostly ready.

Are you ready?

With the prevalent discussion about the COVID-19 virus, variants, vaccines, masks and more, I have a question for you:

Are you ready to die?

We can do everything within our power to attempt to prevent the inevitable, but death is one of the few constants in life.

Changes

My husband Brad and I are moving into our newly purchased home this week.

Changes are bittersweet as we have spent the past four and a half years renting the same space.

We have many precious memories to cherish from the place.

House keys

My husband Brad and I are officially homeowners.

Last Friday, we signed a stack of papers at the closing attorney’s firm and walked out with the keys to our first home.

We started working on the house the next day.

Showered with love

After months of planning and anticipating, family and friends gathered at a local restaurant to celebrate little Luke’s coming this fall.

My husband Brad’s mom and aunt arranged all the details from the beautiful decorations to the delicious food.

As we gathered together, we mingled in fellowship.

Brad’s birthday bash

Saturday came together better than expected.

We had tossed around the idea of getting together at the lake with both of our parents, and I thought Brad’s birthday would be a good occasion to do so.

Brad and I talked with our parents, who both liked the idea.

Almost homeowners

My husband Brad and I have a closing date of July 30 for our first home.

We are praying for all of the paperwork to come together, for a smooth transition after some updates and for a chance to nest a bit before the baby comes.

Independence Day

My husband Brad and I celebrated Independence Day with family and friends.

After Sunday School, we helped to set up for our church’s cookout with an anticipated 100 to 150 partakers.

Many in the church contributed side dishes, desserts, drinks and more.

House hunt

Our house hunt continued Monday after a frustrating and disappointing weekend.

We scrambled to view a home Friday night, and we ended up really liking the place, so we contacted our real estate agent and lender.

In addition, my husband Brad and I both talked with our families.
