Miss Greater Greer Anna Brown and Miss Greater Greer Teen Emma Kate Rhymer attended the Miss South Carolina Workshop Weekend in Columbia.

They also participated in an autograph signing and Judges Dinner.

Members of the Riverside High class of 1977 recently found a unique way to honor their friend and preserve their class history.

Men from as far away as Washington, D.C. and from as nearby as Greer High School descended upon Chandler Creek Elementary Friday to prove that “Real Men Read.”

The school hosted a daylong reading program, featuring members from the local fire department, Greer football team, local and state representatives and many others.

Hockey enthusiasts with disabilities recently tested their skills at the sport during a sled hockey clinic at The Pavilion in Taylors.

The clinic, put on by Greenville Health System’s (GHS) Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital, was the third one of its kind. The fourth and last clinic will be held March 3, also at The Pavilion.

Former Riverside High School teacher and coach Don Miller has written a book based on his 43-year career working with students and student athletes.

The book, titled “Winning Was Never the Only Thing,” began after he was telling stories at a high school reunion. Many of the stories in the book focus on Miller’s years at Riverside.

With nickels and dimes, dress down days and yard sales, Greer Middle College students played hard and worked hard during their recent Spirit Week to raise funds for Pendleton Place and the school’s building fund.

With a goal double last year’s total, the school aimed to raise $25,000, but was not expecting the reveal total.

Eight high school seniors were recognized at The Poinsett Club in Greenville last Thursday afternoon for their service to the community.

The Nathanael Greene Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) highlighted the accomplishments of local students, naming them “Good Citizens.”
