Shelly Jordan has been owner of Shoppes off (and on) Trade for almost 10 years.

Her eye for detail and desire to continuously grow her skills are a daily push toward one more day in the life of baking, sewing, and the general act of creating something to share with the community.

A student’s senior project at Greer Middle College (GMC) has put her behind the wheel of a 1966 Pontiac––and it has her elbow-deep in repairs for a good grade on her final senior exam this May.

Although much of Greer has been changing and developing over the years, one landmark that has remained in the heart of the community is Maple Creek Missionary Baptist Church, which sits on the right at 609 S. Main Street as drivers head into the city.

Praise Cathedral Church of God in Greer has celebrated their 40th anniversary.

The church celebrated on the first Sunday of October—the day Praise Cathedral organized 40 years ago.

“To celebrate, we had two services, and I got to share my perspective of the history of this church,” said Tommy Harvey, Executive Pastor.

On Friday evening at Greer City Park, the fourth annual Bluegrass Festival took place from 6-9 p.m., but it was a proposal during New River Bluegrass band’s performance that stole the show.

Mike Johnson, guitarist, performed “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban, and then got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend to marry him.

A face full of goo isn’t usually a reason to celebrate, but for Mountain View Elementary and Make-A-Wish South Carolina, nothing could be better.

No matter their age, everyone loves to receive a thoughtful gift; however, there’s something extra special when the gift received was made by hand.

Julia (Judy) Pitts of Moore delivered more than 170 crocheted hats for the students at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
