Several Greer High art students received awards in the Eighth Annual City of Greer Juried Art Exhibit recently. Their works are on display at Greer City Hall through the International Festival.

Nathan Brannon, now a freshman at North Greenville University, started Hope Week as his senior project for Greer Middle College in 2016.

Those are the words of Dot Breazeale, who celebrated her 102nd birthday at Manning Place last week.

“If it did, I would’ve been dead a long time ago,” she added.

Born and raised in Fountain Inn, Breazeale moved to Taylors area in the 1950s where she joined Taylors First Baptist Church.

A beach-themed fundraiser for Greer Relief and Resource Agency drew a large crowd last Friday at The Spinning Jenny.

Caroline Robertson, Executive Director for the nonprofit, is still counting the funds raised from the annual Gala, but called the event a success.

Springwell Church will host its fifth annual spring carnival on Saturday, April 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event, which is free to the community, will feature bounce houses, mechanical rides (including a train for preschool-age children), activities and food.
