State population on the rise

South Carolina now has more than 5.1 million residents, according to recent Census data.

The U.S. Census Bureau released the results of the 2020 Census this week, revealing a more than 10 percent population increase for the Palmetto State since 2010.

Despite the increase, the state will not add any new congressional districts.
