The Greer Farmers Market’s annual Brunch Market series is set to begin on Sunday, Jan. 14, and will last from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The victim of last week’s Dollar General shooting in Duncan has died as a result of his injury, and authorities have now identified the suspect responsible for the shooting.

The 23rd annual Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Celebration Luncheon will take place this Monday, Jan. 15.

The luncheon will be held at the Event Hall at Greer City Hall, put on by the City of Greer.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that took place on Shiloh Church Road in Wellford on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

The report states that the incident occurred that night and left one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his hip.

This February, Greer Community Ministries is preparing to participate in the nationwide Meals on Wheels campaign “March for Meals,” by kicking off the month with their first ever launch party.

March for Meals is a month-long fundraising and awareness event all across the country to support Meals on Wheels programs.

With the resignation of Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce President David Merhib, he has offered his farewell to the Greer community.

Merhib served with the chamber as president and CEO for five years and previously served for four years as the President of the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce in South Dakota.

At last week’s Wellford Council Meeting, Eric Inglis, who ran for council in the General Election last November, spoke at the public hearing about Wellford’s need for a farmers market.
