So far in 2017, 72 South Carolina residents have lost their lives to fire related causes. Should that trend continue, the state will almost certainly exceed the number of fire deaths from 2016 (77).
A Lyman man will serve life in prison without parole today after he admitted to stabbing a woman to death and kidnapping her four-year-old daughter.
Justin P. Paris, 35, pleaded guilty to murder, kidnapping and armed robbery after authorities say he repeatedly stabbed 38-year-old Amie Cordova on April 14, 2015.

Operation Dry Baby Bottoms is a month diaper drive to collect 1,000,000 diapers for Upstate babies and families being affected by Diaper Need.
Diaper Need is the inadequate supply of diapers to keep a baby clean, dry and health.
