After a two-year search, North Greenville University has named a new president.
“This is a historic day in the life of North Greenville,” said Bill Tyler, chairman of the university’s board of trustees. “This is only the eighth president we have had at North Greenville.”

Bank robber caught after chase

Inman resident Justin Ashley Bott, 45, has been arrested and charged in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in Lyman last Wednesday.
According to a Lyman Police incident report, Bott entered First Citizens Bank, located at 104 Edgewood St., wearing a black ski mask and demanding money.

Students assist new Lions Club

Blue Ridge Middle School students are helping the Lions Club meet eye care needs in the community. Last week, students colored a large poster during their lunch break for a small donation. Upon completion, the grades participating were permitted one day to wear jeans and tee shirts to school.
