Halloween in Greer Station is Thursday

Trick-or-treaters only have to wait until Thursday to get their hands on their favorite candy, thanks to a number of downtown merchants.

Halloween in Greer Station, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed due to rain, but will begin at 5 p.m. on Trade Street.

Dance Visions of Greer will perform at the event at 5:30 p.m.

Inland Port to expand

South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) President and CEO Jim Newsome announced plans to expand Greer’s Inland Port and create a second inland port last Wednesday afternoon.

Greer’s port, which could see expansion as soon as next June, would be able to handle 200,000 lifts per year with the improvements.

Sheriff’s office looks for suspect

Violent crime investigators with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify a suspect who they believe is responsible for three armed robberies over the weekend. The first incident occurred Saturday around 8:45 p.m. at the Dollar General at 1949 Hayne St.
