The City of Greer is moving forward with a 15-year master plan that aims to provide more economic growth and development, but not without some input from the community.

Last Thursday night, Greer residents got hands-on with the project, participating in a master plan workshop at the Cannon Centre with city and planning officials.

Budget keeps up with growth

David Seifert, director of finance and information technology, reported to Greer Council that, over the past 10 years, while the budget has increased significantly from $12 million to $18 million, it has been at a slower rate than Greer’s population growth.

Friday was the 70th anniversary of D-Day, which is recognized as the turning point of World War II. When more than 150,000 American, British, Canadian and French soldiers were invading the coast of Normandy, France, Greer resident Carmella Hudson was stationed in Wales, England, where she served as a nurse at the 232nd Station Hospital.
