The U.S. Small Business Administration has awarded Owens Insurance Agency the 2014 South Carolina Small Office/Home Office of the year.
The award is given to a small business with 15 or fewer employees that “has demonstrated outstanding growth, innovation, and community involvement.”

The City of Greer is considering passing an ordinance to ban texting, emailing and the use of electronic media when driving. Drivers, however, will still be permitted to talk on cellphones.
