Jerry A. Payne

Jerry Aaron Payne, 60, of 4307 Edwards Road, Taylors, died Feb. 3, 2009 at his residence.

A native of Greenville County, son of the Margie Edwards Odom of Taylors and the late William A. Payne, Jr., he was a member of Bridgepointe Baptist Church.

Charles L. Mahaffey

Charles Leonard Mahaffey, 71, husband of Joyce Leopard Mahaffey died Feb. 3, 2009.

Mr. Mahaffey was born in Simpsonville to the late Julius Mahaffey and Inez Sexton Mahaffey.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are two sons, Charles Harold Mahaffey, and Dale Swafford and his wife, Dorothy.

Nancy Z. Brooks

Nancy Zulamay Staton Brooks, 71, of 3819 Durham Road, Greer, wife of Bobby Brooks, died Feb. 6, 2009 at the Autumn Care in Saluda, N.C.

A native of Saluda, daughter of Agnes Russell Heath of Tigerville and the late Robert Staton, she was a retired employee of the Greenville County School District.

Virginia T. Snow

Virginia Taylor Snow, 85, of 1157 Rogers Bridge Rd., Duncan, died Feb. 15, 2009 at home.

A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse B. and Eunice Ross Taylor, a member of Abner Creek Baptist Church, and a retired employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing Co.

William "Pot" Lindsay

Mr. William M. Lindsay, of Navaho Drive, Spartanburg, passed away Feb. 11, 2009 at the age of 78. He was the son of Francis Eugene and Agnes Durham Lindsay.

Marshall was predeceased by his wife, his high school sweetheart, Virginia "Ginny" O'Neal Lindsay in 2007. They were married for 54 years.

Homer E. Davis, Jr.

Homer Eugene "Gene" Davis, Jr., 65, of 323 New Woodruff Rd., Greer, died Feb. 14, 2009 at home.

A native of Greer, he was a retired employee of Mitsubishi Polyester Film Inc. and a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.

Ressie H. Charping

Ressie Hughes Charping, 91, widow of Clayton Talmadge Charping, died Feb. 11, 2009 at National Health Care.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late William Decator and Mary Luncida Moon Hughes, she was a retired employee of Carolina Blouse. She loved her church and served her Lord at Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

Heath T. Ashley

Heath Trenton Ashley, 18, son of Timothy Ray and Debra Houston Ashley, died Feb. 11, 2009.

A native of Greenville County, he was a student of Greenville Technical College, a graduate of Greer High School, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
