Anne Heath Dobson, 95, daughter of Henry Persons Heath and Cornelia Adams Heath, passed away April 27, 2017.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at Memorial Methodist Church in Greer, conducted by Rev. Joe Cate.

The family greeted friends from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the sanctuary prior to the service.

Anne was born April 28, 1921, in Macon, Georgia, and grew up in Columbia. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Anne was a seventh grade teacher and substitute teacher.

She served as Vice President of Wesley Foundation.  She was a charter member of the Camellia Garden Club, served Meals on Wheels, served on the boards of the Greer Literacy Board, Epworth Children’s Home and led the Thursday Prayer Group for years.  Additionally, Anne taught Sunday school for young adults and ladies for over 50 years.

Throughout her life she inspired, served and cared for others, especially her husband, Clyde Benjamin Dobson, who died in 2010 and her extended family.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to all of Anne’s caregivers over the years.

Surviving are four children, Ben Dobson of Scottsdale, AZ, Heath Dobson (Julie) of Greer, Ellen D. Henson (Mike) of Greer and Cornelia D. Alexander (Jay) of Campobello; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a grandson, Heath Dobson, Jr. and two sisters, Emily Heath Smith and Eva Heath Sullins.

The families will be at their respective homes.
