Betty Ann Pitman, 88, of Pelham, South Carolina, met her Lord and Savior the evening of September 18, 2022.
The daughter of the late Frank Monroe Pitman and Ethel Mae Martin Pitman, she was a Christian and life-long active member of Pelham First Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant to her church and community. Betty Ann retired from The Dow Chemical Company.
She was an avid sports fan and played softball for many years with various teams throughout the upstate. Though softball was her love, she also enjoyed bowling and a round of golf. She was always cheering on the Atlanta Braves and The University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Lottie Pitman Ward and Frances Pitman Merritt; and eight brothers, Claude Pittman, Marvin Pitman, Grover Pitman, Ralph Pitman, Fred Pitman, J.T. Pitman, Carl Pitman, and Alvin Pitman.
Visitation will be held Wednesday September 21, 2022, at Pelham First Baptist Church from 10:30–11:30 a.m. with funeral service beginning at noon conducted by Pastor Patrick Clark. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mark Pitman, Barry Pittman, Rockie Pitman, Freddie Pitman, Brandon Edge, Wayne Merritt, Nolan Merritt, Nathan Merritt, and Robbie Wood.
Honorary escort will be all the ladies of Pelham First Baptist Church.
