Dennis Bernard Dempsey, Sr.

Dennis Bernard Dempsey, Sr., 74, passed away October 17, 2022.

A native of Spartanburg, son of the late Dean Daniel and Marie Burnett Dempsey, he was the owner of Dempsey’s Lawn Service and member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Sue Wendt Dempsey of the home; one son, Dennis (Denny) Dempsey, Jr. (Dana) of Taylors; one daughter, Cynthia Dempsey of Greenville; two brothers, Donald Dempsey of Greenville and Marion Dempsey of Inman; one sister, Latricia Murray of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Parker Dempsey and McKellar Dempsey.

He was also predeceased by two brothers, John Dean Dempsey and Wayne Dempsey; and one sister, Betty Bayne.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, at St. Matthew UMC, conducted by Rev. Kurt McPherson, Rev. Randy Smith, and Rev. Chrisie Reeves-Pendergrass. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service.

The family is at the home.
