Donnie (Don) Norman Young

Donnie (Don) Norman Young, “A GOOD MAN”, and beloved husband of Brenda Howard Young, went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 6, 2021. Born in Liberty, SC, he was the son of Joel Norman and Jean Dora Young of Greer, SC.

He was a graduate of Greer Senior High Class of 1958 and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves stationed at the Donaldson Air Force Base before it closed in 1963.

He was a retired employee with General Battery/Exide Battery Corp. for 24 years and most recently retired from Benson Automotive Family, Greer, SC with 20 years of service, and in his honor they created The Don Young Award.

Surviving are his son, Brannon Williams (Audrey Allen, fiancée); daughter Kimberly Wilson (Addrian); four grandchildren: Roman (Andrea), Matthew (Shawna), Zachary (Casey) and Hannah Mary-Elizabeth Wilson (Aaron Wimpy, fiancé); and great-grands, Paxton, Gavin, Olivia, Saylor, Emersyn, London, and Arbor.

Mr. Young was predeceased by twin sisters: Martha Holcombe of Dalton, GA and Mary Ann Gidding of Rising Sun, MD.

He was a member of Praise Cathedral in Greer, SC.

A cryptside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum conducted by Rev. Tommy Harvey and Rev. Jerry Madden.

The family respectfully request no flowers, but donations may be made to Praise Cathedral Church Mission Fund, 3390 Brushy Creek Rd, Greer, SC 29650.

The family will be at their respective homes.
