Doris J. Byars

Doris Lucille Jones Byars, 86, widow of Clarence Byars, Jr. passed away March 21, 2021.

A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Boyd and Clara Green Jones, she was a homemaker and a member of Greer Church of God.

Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn B. Satterfield (Phillip) of Greer; two grandchildren, Jennifer Farr (Jason) and Elizabeth Miller (Brad); four great-grandchildren, Abby Farr, Katie Farr, Bethany Miller and Peyton Miller.

Mrs. Byars was predeceased by six brothers, two sisters, and one grandson, William Phillip Satterfield.

A funeral service, with webcasting, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Jason Farr and Rev. Tommy Brown. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Brad Miller, David Hodge, Kent Satterfield, Doug McCarn, Tim Blackwell, and Shane Fortenberry.

Visitation will be held after the committal at the gravesite.

The body will lie in state from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at The Wood Mortuary.

The family will be at the home of the daughter, Carolyn Satterfield.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Doug and Cindy McCarn and Shirley Mauldin for their excellent and loving care to Doris.
