The Golden Corner of Northern Greenville County.

Dr. Pauline H. Emery, 89, is celebrating in Heaven today! She joined the good Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

She loved Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul, strength, and mind and loved her neighbor as herself. Pauline was a fantastic wife, aunt, and friend who shared Jesus Christ through her actions and words with everyone.

Her husband, Arnold E. Emery was the love of her life and led the way to Heaven on December 10, 2021. They were married for 71 years. She was always at his side and over he last two or three years took special care of him.

Pauline was born as well as loved her whole life in the “golden (dark) corner” of Northern Greenville County on Highway 11. She enjoyed her service for Jesus Christ as a member of Scenic Hills Baptist Church. Also, she was the co-owner/president of the Arnold Emery Lumber Company from 1962 until her retirement. In addition, she received a well-deserved recognition from North Greenville University–an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities Degree. Most important of all Pauline enjoyed reading her Bible every day and read the Bible from beginning to end over 400 times! She was a “Prayer Warrior” and called to “wash other people’s feet–a Servant for Jesus Christ”! What she did for the Lord spoke so loudly that it was not necessary to hear what she had to say. She was a special person who made a tremendous difference for him.

Pauline was not only predeceased by her husband, but also by her sister, Virginia. Her best friend for over 80 years was Frances Plumley who she talked to regularly (Frances will miss those conversations) and the light of her life was Gavin, her great-nephew. Also, Jimmy and Jagina King (her niece) were diligent in their efforts to give her care and love over the years as well as Jimmy and Gretchen Epting. In addition, Barbara, Betty Dee Dee, Kim, and Mary were the best caregivers one could ever want. Pauline’s memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

A private graveside service which celebrated Pauline’s life was held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Scenic Hills Baptist Church, 10 Old US Highway 25, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
