Gearline E. ‘Geri’ Groves

Gearline E. “Geri” Groves, 86, Greer, SC, formerly of St. Augustine, died September 26, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She was born in St. Augustine and resided here until 1994 when she moved to Greer, SC. She was a former tour guide at Potters Wax Museum for many years. She was a member of New Covenant church in Greer, SC.  Geri was a beloved mother and was blessed to live to be able to see five generations of family.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of St. Johns Family Funeral Home.  Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

A visitation beginning at 1 p.m. preceded the services.

She is survived by a daughter, Melanie Call and son in law Jeffery Call, Greer, SC; son, Michael Dale Groves, Greer; 6 grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two children, Robert VanLieu Sr., and Sherry Leigh VanLieu.

St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
