Hazel M. Long
Hazel Marie Caldwell Henson Long, 85, went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2017. Her husband and family were by her side.
A native of Waynesville, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Medford and Rosetta Wood Caldwell. She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time in the mountains.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Lee Long of the home; one son, Michael K. Henson (Kelly) of Campobello; two daughters, Janice Lynn Harvey of Lyman and Karen Denise Edwards of Trenton, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Donna M. Henson of Taylors; two stepsons, Mark Long (Debra) and Barry Long (Kelly) both of Greer; one stepdaughter, Joyce Johnson (Doug) of Greer; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Long was predeceased by her first husband, George Dewey Henson, Jr.; two sons, Ronald and Timothy Henson; a son-in-law, Dave Edwards; one brother, John D. Caldwell and two sisters, Addie Crane and Lois Songer.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Joe Seay, Rev. Mike Runion and Rev. Paul White. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation was held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Sunday at The Wood Mortuary.
