On March 31, 2017, James Kenneth “Ken” Hart, Sr., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was married to his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Beverly Louise Hart.

Born February 1, 1932, son of the late Dewey Worth and Esther Peahuff Hart and predeceased by his brother, George Hart.  He was raised in the Jordan Community of Greenville County.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and served on the USS Flamingo.  He was a retired diesel mechanic and owner of Ken Hart Repair Service.  He was also a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are his son, James Kenneth Hart, Jr. of Greer; daughter, Debra Canupp of Inman; son, Russell Hart and his wife, Kim of Inman; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held  2 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 251 Hannon Road in Inman, conducted by Rev. Henry Stanford and Pastor Keith Hannon.  Visitation was held 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
