Joe Roy Dill
Joe Roy Dill, 93, husband of Bobbie Jean Ward Dill for 70 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. He was born in Greer, SC to the late Henry and Bessie Dill. Joe graduated from Taylors High School. He served in the National Guard and after that joined the US Navy, where he served in the Korean War. He retired from Winn Dixie Warehouse where he was the superintendent of the garage. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jodie Dill Winchester; grandson, Jason (Amy) Winchester; granddaughter, Stephanie Winchester; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Andrew, Luke, and Hannah Winchester; and a niece, Rachel (Jim) Skinner.
He is predeceased in death by a brother, James “Jim” Dill; and a son in law, Robert “Robbie” Winchester.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Fairview Baptist Church, 1300 Locust Hill Rd, Greer, SC 29651, with Rev. Rufus Chaneyworth officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service.
Private burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, Greer, SC or the Alzheimer’s Association of Greenville, 123 W. Antrim Drive, Greenville, SC 29607.
