Larry Thomas Harvey, Sr.

Surrounded by his wife and children, Larry Thomas Harvey, Sr., 78, left this earthly home to be in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Larry was born in the Oaklawn Township of Southern Greenville County on May 27, 1943 to Broadus Gonzalee and Luree B. Harvey. He graduated from Ellen Woodside High School in 1961, served in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years, and retired from Steel Heddle Manufacturing after 44 faithful years of service. He was a charter member of Praise Cathedral Church of God where he also served as an elder and usher.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 56 years, Theresa Howard Harvey. They were blessed with four children, Rev. Dr. Thomas Harvey, Jr. (Jeanne) of Taylors, William H. Harvey (Alla) of Lyman, Teri H. Graham (Shane) of Greer, and Shadwick L. Harvey (Janet) of Greer; five grandchildren, Alex Graham (fiancé Olivia Chapman) of Greer, Adam Graham of Greer, Kristen Harvey of Taylors, Avery Graham of Greer, Isaac and Jamison Harvey of Greer; one brother, James “Bug” Harvey (Ann) of Gray Court; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Brenda H. Young of Greer.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Praise Cathedral with visitation prior from 1:45-2:45 p.m. A private burial will follow.
