Mary Bridwell

Mary Julia Gunter Bridwell, 87, widow of Frank Bridwell, passed to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Cottages at Brushy Creek.

A native of Orangeburg, daughter of A.C. Gunter, Sr. and Dolly Sandford Gunter, she was an admin judge. She leaves behind her dear family, Steve and Nancy as well as Michael and Steve Sandlin.

Mrs. Bridwell was the first female to be appointed magistrate for Greenville County in O’Neal Township. She also served many years as an administrative judge for the City of Greer.

Mary was loyal to her friends, a happy person who made other people around her feel good. She was a former member of Washington and Northwood Baptist Church but was a current member of Grace Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Errick G. Bridwell, who was an attorney and writer for The Greer Citizen. Mary and Errick shared 8 decades of blessing together.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Wood Memorial Park conducted by Mr. Michael Sandlin.
