Mary Mildred Brannon Clayton Cox

Mary Mildred Brannon Clayton Cox, 96, a longtime resident of Greer, passed away peacefully at her home in Greenville on January 15th.

Mildred (Mil, Mickey, Mother, Ma) is deeply mourned by her family, son Pat and daughter-in-law Leslie Clayton of Charlotte, daughters DeLayne (Dee) Clayton and Jan Cox of Greenville, and son Michael Clayton and daughter-in-law Pam Roberts of New York; grandchildren Jay Doolittle (Argentina) and Dean Doolittle; Valerie (Elliott) Exar and Joel Clayton; Riquette (Wayne) Nielson and Ricky Friar (Charley); and great-grandchildren Neal and Laura Exar; Clay, Carden and Hollis Doolittle; Valerie Zhurakovskaya; Ricky L. Friar, Amanda Lewandowski, Alex and Scott Nielson; Alleyn and Izabella Friar; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mildred is predeceased by her parents Erskine and Sallie Brannon; sisters Lucille McDaniel and Hazel Hadden; her husband Vance Clayton (1945); and husband Edward Cox (1986).

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 20, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Greenville.
