Melvin C. Ewell

Melvin Charles Ewell, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 7, 2023.

A native of Greer, South Carolina, son of the late Fred S. and Nellie R. Ewell, he was a retired employee of Hoechst Celanese and a member and former deacon of Victor Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Ballenger Ewell of the home; one daughter, Traci Lancaster (Judson) of Brunswick, Georgia; one son, Mark Ewell (Kumi) of Pelzer; one brother, Joe Ewell (Edna) of Gray Court; one sister, Evelyn Hewitt (Walker) of Greer; three grandchildren, Drew Thomason, Austin Lancaster, and Kimberly Lancaster; and two great-grandchildren, Rosealynn Lancaster and Sabrina Thomason.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Fred S. Ewell, Jr. and two sisters, Violet Campbell and Barbara Wood.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Victor Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Drew Thomason, Austin Lancaster, Judson Lancaster, Greg Hewitt, Charles Bishop, and Preston Wood.

Honorary escort will be the Maxi Krause Sunday School Class of Victor Baptist Church, Dave Biehl, and Mike Cantrell.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
