Michael Allen Molnar

Michael Allen Molnar, age 70, of Elgin, IL passed away on Feb. 23, 2021. He was born Apr. 4, 1950 in Chicago, IL to his parents, Andrew and Virginia Molnar (née Sabo).

Michael earned a BA in Education at Southern Illinois Univ. in 1973. He worked as a teacher at a private school, and also as an Athletic Official for 22 years.

Michael met his wife, Pam, in college. They were married for 19 years until her death in 1994.

Michael enjoyed model railroading. He also liked playing baseball and was very good at it. He could throw out a runner from left field, and he made catching the long, high flies look easy.

A funny story often laughed about is how Michael once somehow managed to hang his brother, Jim, on a chainlink fence. It left some interesting injuries!

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Molnar; and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Molnar; brothers, James (Deborah), Ronald, and Steven (Diane) Molnar; cousins, June, Claire, Bill, Keith, Cheryl, Wayne, and Grant; nephew, Jonathan (Colleen) Molnar; and niece, Diana (Will) Zagorski.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., with service at 7 p.m., Wed., Mar. 10, 2021 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Pr. Scott Swanson will be officiating.

Interment will be 11 a.m., Thurs., Mar. 11, 2021 at Bluff City Cem., 945 Bluff City Blvd., Elgin, IL 60120.
