Odis Daniel Rumsey, 94, passed away January 3, 2023.

A native of Greer, son of the late Daniel Matthew and Leona Gailey Rumsey, he served as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War and later joined the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Mr. Rumsey was a retired employee of United States Postal Service, and a charter member and former deacon of Riverside Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Sara Smith Rumsey of the home; two daughters, Loretta Rumsey of the home and Angie Sisk (Tony) of Taylors; one son, Michael Rumsey (Dottie) of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Melvin Rumsey of Greer and Harold Rumsey (Marguerite) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sisters, Betty Jung of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Shelby Jean Knighton of Duncan; six grandchildren, Hunter Sisk (Jordan), Parker Sisk (Kelly), Patrick Rumsey (Christina), Justin Rumsey, Aaron Rumsey (Haleigh), and Sierra Bates; and six great-grandchildren, Karlee, Huntly, Adelyn, Lucas, Kynson, and Chandler.

He was predeceased by one son, Joey Randall Rumsey, and two brothers, Curtis Rumsey (Ruth) and Roy Rumsey (Ruby).

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Riverside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Jackson and Dr. Jerry White. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
