Pastor Larry Mayfield

Pastor William Larry Mayfield, 73, passed away March 1, 2021.

A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late William Lee and Elizabeth Smith Mayfield, he was a former minister in Indiana and South Carolina including Tyger Baptist Church and former Chaplain at St. Francis Hospital. Pastor Mayfield was a member of Tyger Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Harriet “Happy” Vaughn Mayfield of the home; one daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Michael Chaney of Buford, GA; two grandchildren, Danielle Chaney, Tyler Chaney; and one brother in law, Mike Howard of Greer.

Mr. Mayfield was predeceased by three sisters, Juanita Whilden, Peggy Ridings and Nancy Howard.

A memorial service was held 4 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Tyger Baptist Church.
