Robert L. Hannon went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 16, 2023. Robert was the son of the late William and Clara Bell Jennings Hannon and the loving husband of Mary Elizabeth Hannon.

Robert served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. One of his many duties during this time was to make sure that the ship had fresh water; he was known as the “Water King”. Robert was also the owner of a well-established business: Hannon Brothers Paint Company. As a lifelong painter, he loved the work he did and paid extreme attention to all the fine details of his job. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Northwood Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kathy Renee Mace (Stacey); his siblings, Ray Hannon (Teresa), J.W Hannon, Faye Rumsey (Roscoe), Anne Stewart (Joe) and Donna Hill; his grandchildren, Cameron Freeman (Amy), Carman Hendrix (Joey), Chase Nash (Charlie), Kyle Turner, Kara Gartside (Bryan), Olivia Mace, Kelsea Mace, and Brett Mace (Brittany); 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Linda Hooper; as well as many other loved family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Robyn Regina Burnette; his siblings, Benny Hannon, Carl Hannon, Eva Pace, Sammy Hannon, Buddy Hannon, Marshall Hannon, Linda Gambrell, and Jimmy Hannon; his brother-in-law, Leonard Hill; and his sister-in-law, Bobbie Lou Hannon.

The family welcomes all friends, neighbors, and loved ones to gather at the home of Mary Hannon on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1 p.m. to have fellowship and remember the life of a beloved husband, father, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
