Ruby Alice Loftis Walker, 80, of Greenville SC, passed away on July 30, 2022, surrounded by family.

She was a native of Greer, South Carolina and the daughter of the late Ansel Grady and Leila Peace Loftis. She graduated from Greer High School in 1959, and she loved to play basketball and was an avid fan cheering on her children, grandchildren, and favorite teams over the years. Ruby loved her family, church, the beach, and Gospel music and had a true joy for life that was contagious.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Kenneth “BaBa” Earl Walker of the home; one daughter, Jamie Walker Ownbey (Kip) of Greer; one son, Kenneth “Todd” Walker (Melissa) of Charlotte, North Carolina; one sister, Emily Reynolds of Taylors; five grandchildren, Noah Walker Ownbey, Hannah Claire Ownbey, Katherine “Kate” Sears Walker, Lauren Loftis Walker, and Kenneth “Lee” Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Ruben Loftis; brother, Jimmy Loftis; and one sister, Imogene Loftis.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Taylors First Baptist Church conducted by The Rev. Cletus Lynch and The Rev. Lindsey O’Rear.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Taylors First Baptist Church.

The family will be at the home of the Walker residence.

The family would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful support and care given Ruby by her oncologist, Kim Ong Gococo MD, chemo nurses with special thanks to Cassie, and ICU doctor and nurses. Your compassion was a gift.
