Sarah Spearman

Sarah "Manning" Taylor Spearman, 85, widow of Clayton Junior Spearman, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Alice McDaniel Taylor. She attended Clemson University as one of the first co-eds in 1956 and assisted in running the family business at Pine Lake Golf Course for many years. She dedicated her life to her family and took pride in raising her children and grandchildren.

She was survived by two daughters, Anna West and Rachel Johnson (Archie); son, David Spearman (Amanda); grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Elizabeth Brown Blackwell, Brady Spearman, and Lyla Spearman; step-grandchildren, Olivia and Hannah Johnson; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Forrest, and Aurora Blackwell; and three sisters.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mike Spearman and a son-in-law, Don West.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 19, from 3-5 p.m. at the Pine Lake Golf Course Club House in Anderson, S.C.
